SR 260 gets funds to plug shortfall; construction on track
FLAGSTAFF -- Now that plans for widening of State Route 260 between Thousand Trails and Interstate 17 are nearly completed, funds have gotten tight. The Town of Camp Verde has been especially concerned that cost-cutting measures would eliminate the Wilshire Drive roundabout and hinder growth.

Man trapped in wrecked vehicle for three days on Mingus Mountain
ALLEN SPRINGS ROAD - A chance stop on a back-country road to take a photograph was the difference between life and death for a Cornville man Friday.

It took three fire departments and four police agencies involving some 15 emergency services professionals to claw their way to the crash site and rescue the 50-year-old man who had been trapped in his car for three days.
