This is certainly better than expecting non-lobbyists to sit through 3 hours of Roberts Rules.
Mayor Joens really does go out of her way to engage with the community at large--although the community at large is generally more available for brunch on school days, all day Saturday, and Sunday afternoons.
However, one also needs to read the minutes of Council meetings to catch whiffs of special interest maneuvering and slip-one-throughs that neither Mayor Joens nor the VI can report.
