Army deserter arrested

COTTONWOOD -- About 2 a.m. Saturday, Cottonwood Police got a call of suspicious activity in the alley behind the Circle K at 10 S. Main St. As the officer arrived, he spotted two people sitting on wall drinking beer. After advising the subjects on the laws pertaining to drinking in public, the officer ran a records check on the subjects. During the check, it was discovered that 24-year-old Cottonwood resident Angel Issac Jaramillo had a valid felony warrant from the United States Army for desertion. Jarmillo was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the Yavapai County Jail to await extradition.

"Jaramillo had a valid felony warrant from the United States Army for desertion." He is considered innocent until proven guilty, but if guilty, he deserves what he gets. Maybe then he can figure out that it is also illegal to drink in public.

Relax Marga right. Trying to cover up family humiliation is a dauntless task. Everyone has skeletons in a closet that fall out of the closet every now and then. Hell, my family has skeletons piled up like the black plague has body counts. They make the paper every now and then and I couldn't be more proud of emí. So in ending, humiliation is good for the soul, just let it happen and that person will grow from it. And whomever appointed you as the family spin doctor needs to take that position away from you. Hate to say it, but your bringing more attention to the situation.

A bit of advise for Mr. Jaramillo. You would have gotten a better deal if you went AWOL in Afghanistan. They would have traded five terrorist for you and you young man would have gotten a hero's welcome. Now it's off to the brig for you!

Tom, why does every one of your comments have to be about the Sheriff's office? Yes we know you hate all cops, it's been obvious. Yes, we may not know the complete story behind this deserter, but it's not for the local cops to determine the outcome. This young man made a mistake, but it's not our business.

I believe that on the Deserter Article, it should of out of Respect for the family & solider be kept Private because you not knowing what & why this solider was gone from Army for a certain amount of time I think there's to much time on your hands to write such an article before knowing the whole truth of story and why!!

You cannot trust anything these people say. I files a complaint of assault against a sheriff's officer and caught them red handed trying to cover it up. I informed all the supervisors and they did nothing.
