SEDONA -- Just before 8 p.m. Friday night, the Montezuma-Rimrock Fire District was dispatched to an injury accident on Interstate 17, just a couple miles north of the Sedona interchange.
Fire crews found a tractor-trailer had rolled over on its side. The tractor-trailer rig was hauling logs and the load spilled into the highway for a distance of a quarter of a mile. The southbound lanes of I-17 were closed for approximately two hours while both the MRFD and Sedona Fire District cut and removed logs in order to open the traffic lanes.
The driver of the tractor was treated for minor injuries and transported to Verde Valley Medical Center. The incident was investigated by DPS.
