Police conduct traffic detail

COTTONWOOD -- Friday, the Cottonwood Police Department along with the Jerome Police and the Department of Public Safety conducted a speed and "move over" violation detail on State Routes 260 and 89A in Cottonwood Friday.

Officers conducted 56 stops that resulted in 35 speeding violations, 9 failure-to move-over violations, 3 seat belt violations, 1 suspended driver, and 1 criminal speed violation.

Funding for the detail was possible thanks to a grant by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.  The Cottonwood Police Department reminds motorist to obey the speed limit and remember to move over when they see an emergency vehicle on the roadside.

Article comment by: This law is aimed at ANYONE pulled over to the side of the road, not just Emergency Vehicles

"The Cottonwood Police Department reminds motorist to obey the speed limit and remember to move over when they see an emergency vehicle on the roadside."

This law is actually aimed at anyone pulled over with flashers on, and is not exclusive to just emergency vehicles. It can be a minivan, a truck or what ever you drive: if any vehicle pulled is off the road with flashers on, you have to change lanes/slow down.

Just wondering why the Jerome Police Dept. had to help with this "detail". Does the Cottonwood Dept. not have enough police?
