9/28/2013 2:29:00 PM Camp Verde teen arrested with weapons at football game
CAMP VERDE - A 16-year-old boy was arrested at Sam Hammerstrom Football Field at Camp Verde High School Wednesday night, accused of having weapons on campus.
The teen allegedly threatened to shoot another student. Deputies from the Camp Verde Marshal's Office, investigating the threats during a powder-puff football game, found two firearms in a vehicle parked on school property and occupied by the accused teenager.
The teen was allegedly involved in an earlier incident of criminal damage (not at the school), and the threats against the other student apparently stemmed from that. According to the CVMO report, he admitted to making the threats.
The boy was taken to the Yavapai County Juvenile Detention facility. He faces charges of threatening or intimidating, minor in possession of a firearm and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds. The weapons were seized as evidence.
