COTTONWOOD -- A Cottonwood man was arrested during a traffic stop Saturday afternoon at Del Rio and State Route 260. Forrest Foster, 34, was followed by a Cottonwood policeman, who noticed that the "95 Chevrolet's windshield was cracked. When the officer ran his license plate, it showed the driver had a suspended license.
Foster reached under his seat while the officer was writing up the driver and produced a weapon. According to the report, he said, "It is my piece."
The officer found no wants on the weapon, but then the man told him he had marijuana under his seat as well. That was a problem when both the medical marijuana cards he presented had already expired.
Foster was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia plus misconduct with a weapon during a drug offense driving on a suspended license.
