9/3/2013 2:48:00 PM DUI patrol on Labor Day Weekend
COTTONWOOD -- About noon Sunday, 60-year-old Warren Wardius of Cornville was charged with driving under the influence of on SR 89A between west Mingus Avenue and South Willard Street in Cottonwood.
Police were contacted about an erratic driver involved in a road rage incident. The man staggered when approached by police, according to the report.
During pat down of the subject, a Smith and Wesson 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol was located in the subject's front waistband covered by his shirt.
He was charged with four counts of DUI and transported to the YCSO jail in Camp Verde.
At about 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, Tia-Lisa Ann Schlake was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in the 1200 Block of Camino Real in Cottonwood. An officer had stopped the vehicle for no license plate light but when she made contact with Schlake, it was determined that Schlake had a suspended drivers license and she admitted to drinking alcohol.
The arrest was part of the Labor Day Weekend Driving Under the Influence Detail in Cottonwood.
