COTTONWOOD -- Two friends had gone for a hike along the Verde River near Dead Horse Ranch State Park Monday afternoon. But, two hours later, when they returned to the cars parked beneath the 10th Street Verde River Bridge they found both the cars vandalized.
Front windshields were shattered, and there were new dents on the vehicles that were not previously there.
One vehicle is a 1992 white Mercury sedan. The second vehicle is a 2001 white Ford Ranger. In addition to the broken windshields and multiple dents, the truck also had scratches on the side windows where suspects are thought to have attempted to break in.
Damage to the Mercury is estimated at $500. There is an estimated $1,500 damage to the pickup.
