Parents get into fight over school test

COTTONWOOD -- A Cottonwood couple was arrested Tuesday evening when an argument got physical. They brawled over their daughter using a calculator to cheat on a school test.

The husband returned to the apartment to get his belongings and officers met the couple to understand the fight.

According to police reports, he raised his fist at his 38-year-old wife saying he was going to hit her, but she punched first and the fight was on. The husband reportedly hit the woman several times and threw her against the wall, until neighbors interrupted the fight.

The wife received two lumps to the head, one that was bleeding. The husband received a scratch to his head, a black eye and scratch on his neck.

He was arrested and charged with assault per domestic violence, fighting and disorderly conduct-language. She was cited for the last two offenses.

Come on now, enough is enough, disorderly conduct-language. I understand people don’t like vulgar language but isn’t their a thing called freedom of speech. There is a serious problem today concerning common sense, there is none! Last week I read about a junior high school student being arrested, hand cuffed in class and removed from school because she was doodling on her desk with a pencil. Then a young girl in third grade was arrested, searched in front of her class because a classmate reported to his teacher that this girl pointed a piece of paper at him that he thought looked like a gun. A picture showed the white piece of paper, it looked like an “L”. These kind of stories are being reported all over. What has happened to “COMMON SENSE”? Are we getting this stupid? Of all people who should know better, our Police! I understand they have a hard job where their damned if they do or damned if they don’t but common sense has to fit in there somewhere.

Lets see, He threatened violence, she initiated the violence by punching him first, he gets charged with domestic violence, fighting and ??disorderly conduct-language??
She just gets fighting and ??disorderly conduce-language??
I think we all had better learn which A.R.S. statute the disorderly conduct-language is listed under! How is it prosecuted within the court system and what is now the penalty for what? saying a bad work? Which words are prohibited and is there a different penalty for some words because they are worse. Is there only a penalty if one is upset while uttering those bad words.
This brings to mind a pretty scary scenario folks.
