Student work by Melanie Krasnay
Yavapai College is offering the class Adobe Photoshop CS6 (ART137, Adobe Photoshop 1, 15746) on the Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale, beginning Jan. 14.
Learn to use this amazingly comprehensive program and advance your skills whether you are a photographer, artist or designer. ART137 is an entry-level class and maintains a focus on the fundamentals, but the assignments will allow students to explore the endless possibilities for self-expression with this creative software.
Students that take the Photoshop class tend to be diverse in age and computer experience. They're often artists, art students, photo enthusiasts, as well as people who work in industries that require marketing and design expertise - they are often those who are curious about image making and may have no background in the arts; all are welcome.
Photoshop ART137 is a prerequisite for Digital Photography classes at Yavapai College and prepares the user to take their photography to an advanced level. Those who take the course also qualify for the substantial student discount from Adobe for the Photoshop CS6 program.
Photographer and adjunct Professor of Art, Jon Pelletier, is teaching the class; he holds an MFA from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia.
The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. in room G104. Register online at yc.edu. before Jan. 4. You may also contact the instructor at firstname.lastname@example.org
