The Yavapai County Community Health Services and Verde Valley Sanctuary coordinated this year's 2014 Teen Maze at the Clemenceau Building in Cottonwood. Running for two days, March 4-5, students in 7th-9th grade, primarily, spent about two hours touring a variety of educational booths meant to increase their understanding of issues ranging from drug and alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, body self-image and better decision making. Teen Maze attracted students from Oak Creek School, Camp Verde Middle School, Clarkdale-Jerome, Cottonwood Middle School and Mingus Union High School. Approximately 130 students from Cottonwood Middle School, Oak Creek and a Life Skills class from Mingus toured the Teen Maze on Wednesday afternoon. Educators used props and examples that the students could relate to, making the program fun as well as instructional. VVN/Jon Pelletier

Every year Teen Maze is great, but this year seemed to be the best yet. The kids were engaged and loved it. It was informative and interesting. Great job everyone!
