After nine months of being open to the public, the Sedona Wetlands Preserve is now ready for its grand opening celebration. On Friday, Sept. 27, activities will provide guests an understanding of the facility's unique contributions in the water cycle purification process and the role it provides concerning animal habitat. The Sedona Wetlands Preserve is located at 19655 SR 89A in front of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This event is open to the public, but carpooling is strongly urged as parking is limited.
To kick off the celebration at 9 a.m., there will be a guided birding tour led by local birding experts and volunteer supporters of the Preserve. At 10 a.m., speeches will commence and those involved in the project will be recognized. Following this at 10:30 a.m., there will be a facilities tour for those wishing to learn more about the water project taking place at the Preserve.
