Fallen firefighters to be honored at Clarkdale's Fourth of July

CLARKDALE --The Town of Clarkdale and the Clarkdale Fire District will be honor the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hot Shot Crew killed in the line of duty during Fourth of July celebration.  The public is encouraged to join us at 7 a.m., just before the flag raising at the Clarkdale Gazebo, when a representative from the Clarkdale Fire District will read the names of the 19 fallen firefighters.

The traditional Pancake Breakfast, hosted by the Clarkdale Police Department and Clarkdale Fire District begins just after the 7 a.m. flag raising.  The Police Department and Fire District have worked jointly for many years to provide this community breakfast during Clarkdale's Old Fashioned Fourth of July festivities.  The proceeds of the pancake breakfast have traditionally been split between the two agencies and have provided funding for supplemental equipment and community activities.  This year, the Clarkdale Fire District and Clarkdale Police Department have agreed that 100 percent of the proceeds from the pancake breakfast will be given to the families of the fallen firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our communities.

The price of the pancake breakfast is $4 for adults and $3 for children.  In addition to the advertised price for the breakfast, donations in any amount will be accepted and donated in support of the families.

For more information, contact the Clarkdale Police Department at (928) 649-7700.
