Dead woman's body left at Rimrock fire station; man arrested

RIMROCK-- Sunday morning, about 10 a.m., a man pulled up to the Montezuma/Rimrock Fire Station and told crews that a woman in his truck had died.

Fireman attempted CPR on the woman without success while the man drove away without giving his or the woman's name.

She was pronounced dead at the firehouse.

Deputies were called and within several hours identified the woman as 25-year-old Tiffany McGinnis of Rimrock.

Using information obtained from the effort to learn the woman's name and background, detectives contacted 30-year-old Daniel Harrison who lives in the 5700 block of Laura Lane, Rimrock.

Detectives identified Harrison's truck as the vehicle seen by the firemen earlier. Harrison said that McGinnis had been his roommate for several days. After returning home from work, he said her found McGinnis near a neighboring house, incoherent and distraught. He said he took her back to his house and she fell asleep in her bedroom after dinner. He said McGinnis took prescription medications and thought the drugs were having an effect on her behavior.

When Harrison woke up Sunday morning, he checked on McGinnis and found her unresponsive and cold to the touch. He claimed he could not find his phone, so he put her in his truck and drove to the local fire station.

Detectives conducted a search of Harrison's home as part of the ongoing investigation.

Harrison was eventually arrested on a felony charge of abandonment of a dead body and tampering with physical evidence. He was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center and released on a $3,000 bond.

Cause of death is pending a report from the Medical Examiner.

You people have no clue what happened! To make a joke of a young 25 year old girl losing her life and then some loser dumping her body instead of calling 911! Sickening! As well as getting a $3000 bond. you shouldn't gave access to a computer! A young girl is dead. Where is the compassion for her family? I know her mother and she can barely get out of bed. let her RIP and justice be served!!!
