RIMROCK - Lake Montezuma-Rimrock neighbors are being advised of a scam working in their area. The subject is a young man, 19-22 years of age, with dark haired, standing about six feet tall and extremely personable.
According to the scam, the man introduces himself as a Coconino Community College (CCC) student from this area and mentions that he is fulfilling requirements for a class he is taking. The class requires him to meet and engage with his neighbors. In the course of the conversation, he asks for donations for a European trip the class is planning. If asked for ID, he states that CCC is holding his student identification card and to get it back, he has to submit the money he receives to them.

I believe this person was in the Verde Heights area about a month ago asking for donations for a CCC soccer tourney in Florida. He was very personable, dark hair glasses, smoking a cigarette and he had some personal checks in his possession. I would bet money it is same guy. Also, he said his name was Josh.
