4/30/2013 4:08:00 PM 2013 Summer Junior Ranger Camps to be Held at Montezuma Well
This summer, Montezuma Castle National Monument will be holding the fifth annual free Summer Junior Ranger Camps at Montezuma Well in Rimrock.
Join a National Park Ranger for an exciting four-day learning experience at the Montezuma Well unit of Montezuma Castle National Monument. Junior Rangers will learn about the prehistoric Sinagua culture, geology, archaeology, and preservation through hiking, discussions, and hands-on activities.
These day camps will be held Tuesday through Friday:
Camp 1: June 11-14 (All Returners from previous year's camps)
Camp 2: June 18-21 (Ages 8-11)
Camp 3: June 25 -28 (Ages 12-16)
Camps will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. All camps are free.
Camp reservations can be made by completing the registration packet. Registration forms can be obtained from the website www.nps.gov/moca/forkids/go-to-jr-ranger-camp.htm or by calling (928) 567-3322, ext. 1. Please also leave a message for any questions.
Registration starts May 15. Reservations will be taken on a first come-first serve basis.
There is a maximum of 20 campers per camp. All kids/parents who complete a registration packet for their reservation will be sent a letter with more information on what to expect and required items.
