Verde Valley Leadership is pleased to announce its guest speaker and tickets are available for the second annual Verde Valley Leadership Summit & Awards Wednesday April 24.

The summit will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa.

The guest speaker will be Lisa Schnebly Heidinger. Ms. Schnebly Heidinger's love of Arizona is as deep as her roots; the town of Sedona was named for her great-grandmother, Sedona Schnebly.

For more than 30 years, Lisa has been a journalist, finding and recording Arizona's stories, first as a newspaper and television reporter, then as a columnist and author.

She serves on the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission and wrote the state's official centennial book, "Arizona: 100 Years Grand."

She shares a desire to be of service and a leader in the community and is now a Flinn Brown Civic Leadership Academy fellow, pursuing her goal of servant leadership.

Ms. Schnebly Hedinger will speak about her love of Arizona history, lessons in leadership and her personal experiences in the state of Arizona.

In addition to our guest speaker, the Verde Valley Leadership Summit provides the opportunity to highlight exemplary leadership in the Verde Valley.

This event will celebrate leadership, showcase opportunities for involvement and "inspire individuals to action" as their Vision statement reads. President of the Board of Directors for Verde Valley Leadership, Heather Hermen of Front Burner Media, says of the event, "the Verde Valley Leadership Summit is our opportunity to focus on leadership, the benefits it brings to our community, the areas where involvement and participation are available, and to inspire others to take action. We know that having Lisa Schnebly Heidinger as our guest speaker will be a wonderful opportunity for community leaders and members to hear experiences they can relate to and also share in the awards of a youth and adult leader we all probably know. We're very excited about the event and sharing it with the community."

Tickets for the event are $50 per person or varied sponsorship levels available are for businesses; more information can be found online at
