Much loved educator Stacy Kramer was honored by friends, family and colleagues on Friday, Jan. 25, at a ceremonial sculpture unveiling at the Clemenceau building in Cottonwood. Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District organized the unveiling ceremony of the bronze statue dedicated to the spirit and memory of former teacher and Tavasci Elementary School dean Stacy Kramer. C-OC Superintendent Barbara U'ren and Oak Creek School head teacher Sandy Huson both spoke eloquently at the event, quoting lines from Kramer's favorite song, which includes the passage: "Dance like no one is watching, Live like it's heaven on earth." The Cottonwood Elementary Choir, under the direction of music teacher Karen Schwartz, reiterated the lines, performing the entire song, Dance, during the ceremony - it served as a fitting summation of Kramer's optimistic approach to life. Renowned artist and Cornville resident John Waddell created the statue. Waddell and his wife Ruth unveiled the bronze figure in front of the many guests at the event. VVN/Jon Pelletier

How beautiful that Mrs. Kramer was remembered in such a way... She was my 2nd & 3rd grade teacher, & has had a profound impact in my life. One of the most sweetest & memorable teachers ever. Grateful for having her as a teacher. She had been a guest speaker in a college class of mine a few years ago, & again brought her great attitude & inspiration back into my life. Her positive mindset lives forever in my heart.

This is great....I think that the COCSD should look into this for Oak Creek School and something in memory of the GREAT Marie Hammerle!!!
