PRESCOTT -- The Superior Court has announced the selection of a Judge Pro Tem for the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Pro Tem Warren R. Darrow.
Ethan A. Wolfinger has been selected as Judge Pro Tempore, to be effective March 5. There were 17 applicants for this position.
Ethan Wolfinger is an Arizona native who grew up in Yavapai County. He has been involved in the Yavapai County legal community since 1980 as a private attorney, Town Attorney, Deputy Yavapai County Attorney, Juvenile Court Commissioner and part-time Judge Pro Tem.
He has extensive experience in civil, criminal, domestic and juvenile law and substantial experience in all aspects of the law handled by a Superior Court Judge. He will be an asset to the citizens of Yavapai County as a Superior Court Judge Pro Tem.
Wolfinger has also been very involved throughout his life in serving his community as a volunteer.
Appointment of the Judge Pro Tempore is made by the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court upon request of the Presiding Judge and subject to the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approval.
Presiding Judge David L. Mackey selected the successor for this position after interviewing finalists identified by a Selection Committee, reviewing applicant qualifications and considering public comment.
