Driver dies in Camp Verde crash

CAMP VERDE - The driver of a Ford Mustang was killed Friday when his car was struck by a motor home in Camp Verde.

Emergency crews were called about 4:30 p.m. to the fatality at the intersection of State Route 260 and Park Verde Road. The two vehicles collided T-bone style.

Camp Verde Marshal's investigators say the smaller vehicle was entering SR 260 from Park Verde Road and pulled into the path of the 33-foot motor home.

The vehicle suffered heavy damage and the driver needed to be extracted by emergency crews. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Camp Verde Fire crews.

The motor home driver sustained minor injuries to his chest and rib area and was transported to Verde Valley Medical Center.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
