Column: New face in downtown Clarkdale

Come join the fun, treats and celebration Saturday, March 1, at the noon grand opening and ribbon cutting at Miller's Market, on Main Street between 9th and 10th in Clarkdale.

Start your day (as early as 7 a.m.) to perfection with a great cup of coffee and a melt in your mouth scone or a 'to die for' chocolate brownie at the newest addition to Clarkdale's Main Street - Miller's Market. If you're into a healthier "begin the day feast," the humungous breakfast burritos, with some great flavors will bring smiles to your taste buds. Oh, if you've run out of toothpaste or milk, bread, an apple or banana or dog food you'll find that too.

Laura Jones, Rachel Jackson, Maria Jackson and Sonny Jackson have just opened a market and deli filled with the stuff that you need without having to go to the chain stores. What a treat! The feel of an old-time deli is heightened by the great sandwiches and wraps (on super good bread and big tortillas) replete with a range of dressings to suit your taste.

A lot of hard work and imagination went into putting together this charming addition to the Clarkdale Main Street business community. The black and white floor tile and steel fittings and fixtures set the tone for the market's interior and the jar of pickles (special deli dills) are hard to resist.

Miller's Market is on the south side of Main Street and is open 7a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Stop by and enjoy the friendly smiles and talk and good food and drink. There is stuff to drink other than coffee! And if you're looking for something and can't find it, ask and maybe it will magically appear.

See you on March 1, if not before, in Clarkdale - on Main Street - at Miller's Market. AND keep your eyes and ears tuned in to the very soon to happen ribbon-cutting grand opening of the Main St. Café,, next to the 10-12 Lounge, with food and pizza prepared by master chef Scot Buckley. Two special treats for the Verde Valley. Do stop by.
