Letter: America has lost its sense of personal responsibility

Editor:

With 48 million unemployed people not paying taxes and many of them on unemployment benefits, 47 million people on food stamps and a 40-percent increase of people on disability payments, it becomes painfully obvious that we have become a nation filled with overgrown children who need the government to enforce mandatory charity, welfare, healthcare and ad infinitum.

A truly healthy society supported by strong and self-sustainable individuals would not beg to be parented by government. It would appear that we have become a country so unbalanced in our stooping to socialism that our ailments extend far beyond anything our government could hope to cure. What has happened to taking personal responsibility for our own welfare, for doing jobs to our very best and just doing what is right?

We are at a crossroads and hopefully have one last chance to stop the avalanche of catastrophic debt that will destroy our nation if we don’t act to stop it. We are at a war with the Progressive Elites who are currently running the country and our finances, which is why there is a Tea Party that has arisen to wake up the nation just as the patriots did in 1776.

If you are not ready to become a third world nation you can join us. Our next rally will be on Saturday Aug. 4 from 8-10 a.m. at the corner of 260 & 89A.
