 Do you remember that person from your childhood who made an impact on you? Maybe it was a friend of your family, a teacher or an uncle who went the extra mile for you. At Big Brothers Big Sisters there are many children right here in the Verde Valley and Sedona waiting for a "Big."

Meet Gary and Laura

They just celebrated the one year anniversary of their match but both say it feels like they have known each other forever.  Anyone would notice that if you spent time with them.  They have a great ease with each other. Once a week they have cooked dinner together.  And yes, one of Gary's favorite foods is vegetables.  After dinner they often played games and watched movies.   They also enjoyed treasure hunting at garage sales, attending local events, and even  a trip down to Phoenix to see the Cardinals play. They've grown to enjoy each others music and know how to be comfortable just hanging out together.  They have established a fun trusting friendship.

Becoming a Big Sister or Big Brother is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. Of the kids waiting for a Big right now, there's one wanting to go on a hike, ride bikes, bake cookies or just hang out with someone like you. Some have been waiting for almost a whole year!
