The headline should read, “Romney Care Held Up By the Supreme Court.” The law was based on legislation Romney signed into law when he was governor of Massachusettes.
The law allows children to remain on their parents’ health policy until age 26.
Children cannot be denied coverage due to a pre-exisiting health condition.
Adults can’t be denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition starting in 2014.
An insurance company can’t drop you from coverage if you become seriously ill.
Will close the gap in Medicare Part D coverage. (The dreaded donut whole for prescription drugs).
Preventive care must be covered in full. (Mamograms, yearly check ups)
Insurance companies must account for increases in premiums.
Insurance companies owe you a refund if they don’t spend 80 percent of their income on Medicare care.
Insurance companies are banned from putting a lifetime limit on health care costs.
If you have a catastrophic illness, you can’t be dropped from health care coverage.
