Westcott Funeral Homes donates pole to Immaculate Conception for MacMaster
6/21/2012 1:03:00 PM
Westcott Funeral Homes owners Steve and April Palmer donated a flagpole to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and had it dedicated on Sunday, June 17.
The donation was inspired by a late employee Charles “Bernie” MacMaster who wanted to see a flagpole on the grounds of the new Church.
The flagpole is in memory of MacMaster and his wife Mary and is in honor of all veterans.
Father David Kelash, pastor, gave the opening blessing of the presentation. VFW Post #7400 reminded the congregation of the sacrifice many have given to be able to raise our flag. Members present performed the flag raising and the bugler sounded “To the Colors.”
The 30-foot aluminum flagpole is lighted at night and is visible from both approaches of State Highway 89A.
