Luis

Luis' family moved here in 2003. He lives with his mother, father and older sister. His mother is very supportive of Luis having a Big Brother and says that he would benefit from having someone who is energetic, active, interested in sports and able to help Luis have fun just being a kid. She wants Luis to be able to connect with a positive male figure and wants her son to be happy.

Do you remember the older guy you used to think was so cool and how much you wanted to be like him? It's your turn to be that person to a boy in our community!

At Big Brothers Big Sisters there are many boys and girls waiting to be matched with a Big Brother, Big Sister or Family. With school now being in session, more and more kids are referred to our program every day.

The majority of these children are boys who are being raised by a single mom or grandparent. Women are wonderful mentors but some conversations can only happen with another guy. Imagine a boy not being given the chance to talk comfortably about "guy" stuff.

You can provide that! Make an impact in a boy's life simply by taking that first step and volunteering to be a Big Brother today!

Luis is an adventurous 6-year-old boy who just started the first grade. He loves writing and prides himself by saying he can write long stories! Luis loves all sports.

His favorite sport is soccer and he also likes football, bowling and playing catch. Luis prefers the outdoors over staying inside any day. He loves playing with his friends and also likes Legos and Sponge Bob.

Luis is somewhat quiet and prefers to listen rather than talk. When he grows up he wants to be a policeman.
