Smoke can be seen from the Point Fire, above, which was burning five miles east of Sedona on Munds Mountain and could be seen from Uptown and the VOC on Friday. VVN/Vyto Starinskas,
Lighting from monsoons sparked several fires in Sedona late last week: one turned into a wildfire about 5 miles east of Sedona which produced a large amount of visible smoke from the Uptown area and the Village of Oak Creek Friday, and another lightning strike ignited the roof of a Sedona resort Wednesday.
