A motorcyclist hit a deer on SR 89A about six miles south of Jerome Tuesday at about 3 p.m., throwing the bike and the rider into the bushes, according to the DPS officer at the scene. The rider was stabilized and treated for an ankle injury about 25 feet into the woods and was carried out by rescue workers, he said. A rescue helicopter circled the scene but was not required, according to the officer. The deer was killed and was also off the side of the road in the woods. (Photo by Vyto Starinskas)
