10/12/2013 9:00:00 AM Letter: Their future and ours depends on success of override
The Vision of the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce is to be "a dynamic source of business leadership for our members and our community". One way to accomplish this is to work with our local schools to provide our businesses with an educated workforce. Our current students are tomorrow's employees and business owners.
They need to be well educated to ensure our community's future economic success. We are working with the GEAR UP program to connect our students with our local businesses for a shadow program to help students understand the career opportunities available right here in their hometown. We are also working together with our City, schools and local businesses to showcase how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) affects businesses in our community at the Verde Valley SciTech Festival that will be held next March. We are challenging our students to understand how important education is to not only their own future, but to the future of Cottonwood and the Verde Valley.
Let's show our students the importance of education by voting YES on the upcoming Override Election for both COCSD and MUHSD. Their future and ours depends on the outcome.
