8/21/2014 1:57:00 PM Science Foundation awards technology grants to two Yavapai County schools
Science Foundation Arizona (SFAz) has awarded two Yavapai County school programs with funds from The Margaret T. Morris Foundation and The Dow Foundation. Mingus Union High School in Cottonwood and Model Creek School in Yarnell each received funding for technology equipment for use in their science classrooms, a total grant amount of $17,860.
MUHS was awarded 10 laptop computers and a 30-port mobile laptop charging station to support programs which will teach students individual and group research skills and graphical analysis of laboratory data. Model Creek School received 17 laptops to support student projects and research, the introduction to inquiry and social aspects of science, and as virtual lab and field experiences. The technology will facilitate the development of science lessons aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards.
