National Night Out Returns Aug. 5


The Clarkdale Police Department invites you to the annual National Night Out event Aug. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. a the Main Street Park. Meet your local police officers and neighbors and join us for free food, soda and ice cream. Plenty of fun activities are planned including a dunk tank, tug of war, three-legged races, burlap bag races and face painting. See demonstrations by Flip City Gymnasts and KCs Family Tae Kwon DO students. Help design our police vehicle graphics. 50/50 & other raffles with proceeds going toward the Bullet Proof Vest fund. Neighborhoods and citizens throughout the City of Cottonwood and the Verde Valley are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the "31st annual National Night Out" crime and drug prevention event Aug. 5. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cottonwood Children's Park (12th and Cherry Street) the Cottonwood Police Department will be hosting a variety of special events at the Children's Park once again this year.

Dressed up in their GI Joe outfits, all carrying their big guns would scare my children. I taught them all about Officer Friendly, not about SWAT and military vehicles.

Think we'll stay home and play board games.

Those men in whatever uniform that is are laughing at us. They want us to watch them play real life GIJoe. What we are watching is the militarization of America.

They train the kids to spar and fight so they can arrest them later in life.
We are fools.
