COTTONWOOD -- Over the St. Patrick's Day weekend, Cottonwood Police arrested two individuals on suspicion of Extreme and Super Extreme DUIs. Cottonwood resident Christopher Hollis, 30, was stopped in the 300 block of South Main Street after it was revealed his registration had been cancelled for having no current insurance, a felony offense. During the stop, officers observed Hollis had bloodshot watery eyes and was slurring his speech. After allegedly failing his field sobriety tests, Hollis was taken into custody and provided a breath sample showing his intoxication level to be a .241, three times the legal driving limit.
Joseph Laisure, 23, was also charged with Extreme DUI after being stopped for speeding and swerving in his lane of traffic in the 500 block of South Main Street. Laisure also allegedly showed signs of being intoxicated, failed field sobriety tests, and provided a breath sample of .203. Both subjects were cited and released from the Cottonwood Police Department to a responsible party.
