District-4 Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) held roundtables in Prescott, Cottonwood and Prescott Valley Monday to discuss the government slowdown, the debt ceiling, Obamacare and other issues with local business leaders. Gosar presented a slide show with numerous graphics to graphically show how spending is the government's biggest threat.

After the roundtables Rep. Gosar said, "People are fed up with the gridlock and partisanship in Washington. They are sick of feeling like pawns in a political chess game. Their families and businesses are hurting."

Gosar spoke of America's debt and sequestration, which he described as tax cutting. "I was the only one in Arizona that voted for it," he told the Cottonwood gathering.

"Debt is escalating out of proportion." He says, interest rate will grow two to three times, second only to, or even greater than, social security. The new balloon is the Affordable Care Act or Obama care.

We made cuts in the past few years called sequestration. BCA, the Budget Control Act makes cuts almost exclusively in non-defense discretionary spending. Mandatory spending is on auto pilot."

"American Indians are exempt from the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare. He complained that the ACA is not true healthcare reform. "It is going to fail. We need true healthcare reform" He told the businessmen.

Gosar suggested their would be another Republican challenge to the ACA. "There is no authority for 'exchanges'. What they are after is a single payer plan."

On Immigration reform, Gosar challenged that "the Senate Bill is unconstitutional. Legislation involving taxes and revenues must come through the House."

Generally, Gosar told the small crowd that congress needs "smaller bills" that are not weighted down. "We need to be engaging Americans."

Gosar applauded the solutions that were created when Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich were able to sit across the table. "We gotta' come to the table with solutions."

The Congressman criticized Attorney General Eric Holder and he said Benghazi is a big black eye for the U.S.

PF, why is it you don't use your real name? Is it because you might be uniformed and that would be embarrassing? If you can't use your real name how am I suppose to know if I'm speaking to a robot or just an other uniformed citizen. Use your real name and then we'll debate. If I'm wrong on the issues, I will gladly admit it. Will you?

Rouge police and sheriffs are a sign of weak leadership, Paul.

Article comment by: It seems to me:

Paul Gosar is doing exactly what he said he would.

Therefore, this is what the majority of his constituents wanted.

It seems strange that the same people who are delighted AG Tom Horne's questionable campaign practices are being investigated--and rightly so--are outraged by Rep. Gosar's criticism of AG Eric Holder. Gun running, questionable search and seizure, and warrantless wiretapping are all more threatening to Arizonans. So is SOS Hillary Clinton's handling of the Benghazi incident. So is SHHS Kathleen Sebelius's mismanagement of the implementation of the PPACA. And as President, Barrack Obama is responsible for putting these people in charge of the nation's civil rights, international security, and health.

Obama care is doomed.Just in Az people are
going the medicare and medicade route.
Ten other states are doing the same. What
happens when people refuse to pay higher
premiums to support others?
Throw them in prison or slap their wrists with
Thousands of pages to Obama care haven't
been read yet.Go figure.
When people are paying $1300.00 a month
they think twice.

Paul Gosar is the best congressman ever in my 71 years~he understands our constitution, bill of rights and federalist papers. He works his tail off, listens to those of us he represents and fights for our liberty and freedom. Anyone who complains about the job he is doing just wants something for nothing and more take on those of us who work for a living.

It was a Democrat president.

The media went crazy and the repubs are still calling for his head!

Like so many other things in life, you missed it.

(Hysterical you have the repubs as possibly electing a woman prez. Very funny, Elaine, proves what you understand about the politics of your side-- not much).

.. you sent Gosar to Washington to ruin the economy, make the US look stupid on the international scene and wreck our government?

That is about all Gosar and the do nothing repubs have accomplished.

Oh, and Mr. Gosar has made it harder for you, Rose, lady that you are, to practice your Constitutional right to privacy concerning your medical care, be able to make free decisions about your own body, or have equal pay for equal work.

Stupid little 'extra' things like that, Rose.

Do you always vote against your own best interests, Rose, or is it new psychotic behavior?

Someone mentioned Weisser as a possible candidate....
Mikel Weisser was/is a member of the occupy group....
you remember the violent occupy nut jobs don't you...
the folks that threw feces and bags of urine at people...
destroyed public and private property by setting fires, esp in Oakland Ca....
several occupy nut jobs arrested in Ohio for making bombs....
arrests of some occupy nut jobs for rape in New York and Ca....
arrests for "copulating in public", defecating in public, drug overdose deaths in Ca., Vancouver B.C.and elsewhere...
molotov cocktails being set off in Portland Or...
and the list goes on and on and on and on and on.........
and Weisser is a member of this group of violent whack jobs...
but he likes to wear a peace lapel pin because he believes in "peace"....
that makes him "peaceful".....
yeah... right....
“by their fruits ye shall know them.”

The occupy nuts are extremists who are anything but representative of the 99 percent of Americans the movement claims to stand for.

Rep. Gosar is not my Congressman so I really have no standing to criticize him, but that never stopped me before.

So Rep. Gosar says, "ACA is not true healthcare reform. "It is going to fail. We need true healthcare reform." What do you suggest Rep. Gosar? How do you propose healthcare insurance be reformed? Tort reform? Medical savings accounts? How about we adopt a Republican Proposal that creates private insurance exchanges, government subsidies for low income workers and makes participation mandatory in order to spread the risk. Then we make it so pre-existing conditions can not disqualify you, lifetime caps don't apply and preventative care is covered 100% by all the private insurance companies in the exchanges. We make it State by State so the plans can be administered more locally. How about a plan like that? A plan first proposed by republicans and already passed into law in Massachusetts by a Republican Governor. How about we do that? Oh, wait a minute, we already did. You guys now call it Obamacare and have done everything including the legislative equivalent of holding your breath until you turn blue to abolish it. You shut down the government and put 800,000 people out of work and millions more at some level of risk, including those his work at The Grand Canyon. Not to mention costing the economy about 24 billion dollars. All that because....? You don't like Obamacare anymore. Republicans used to like it, heck you guys came up with it in the first place.

The good Rep. Dr. Gosar offers no alternative except to say he " applauded the solutions that were created when Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich were able to sit across the table. "We gotta' come to the table with solutions." We Democrats already have a solution and ironically it was originally a Republican solution.

Rep Gosar, boilerplate townhall talking points are not solutions

Thank you Paul, for standing up for the concerns of the people, and small businesses. Benghazi is also of concern Mr Gauslow, why is it being swept under the rug that our embassy was stormed, people were killed and the administration tried to sweep it under the rug??? If it had been a Republican president, the media would have gone crazy and the dems would have called for his/her head!

GENGHAZI!! Congressman Gosar, keep Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRA, the NSA and any thing else this POTUS, "I Know Nothing, I see Nothing" sgt Shultz, sweeps under the rug. Thank you for going to Washington and doing the job we sent you to do. Continue the good work of keeping this country united. Regarding Mikel Weisser, wasn't he one of those that tried to take your job on the last go round?

Article comment by: We heard Andy Tobin is sleeping on Gosar's couch in Flagstaff...

Now that he has decided to carpet bag it over to district 1...

Don't forget Gosar voted to default the nation... he was in lockstep with Ted Cruz and the rest of the crew.
