Verde Village Property Owners Association Opens Nature Preserve (with video)
The VVPOA and friends held a dedication ceremony for the recently completed 35-acre nature preserve located at Broken Saddle and Comanche Drives in Cottonwood on Thursday, May 9. The VVPOA had help from Arizona Game and Fish, Friends of Verde River Greenway and many volunteers to complete the project. Vetraplex, the veterans organization from Clarkdale, played a big part in the clean-up and removal of invasive species at the site. After the dedication and ribbon cutting, Steve Estes, who is Community Outreach Director for Verde Valley Land Preservation, invited all to tour the Preserve to see what has been done. Afterward, there was a barbecue at the Clubhouse nearby and a forum on Open Space. VVN/Jon Pelletier
