High Risk H1N1 clinic Saturday

Yavapai County Community Health Services will hold an H1N1 vaccination clinic Saturday for people at high risk from the swine flu. The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cottonwood County Complex at 10 S. Sixth St.

Only people who fit into one of the high-risk categories will be vaccinated. Leslie Horton, public information officer for the Community Health Services department, said depending on vaccine availability, H1N1 vaccination clinics for the general population will begin in early December.

High-risk categories include pregnant women; household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age; healthcare and emergency medical personnel and school staff; all people from 6 months through 24 years; persons aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions that put them at higher risk of medical complications from flu, and people with disorders that can compromise respiratory function.

Those who do not meet the above high-risk criteria will not be eligible for vaccination Saturday.

Required consent and insurance forms may be downloaded from www.yavapaihealth.com and filled out prior to the clinic. Those with forms already filled out will be expedited for vaccination.
